A successful history

Gestamp Solar was formed in 2005 as the centerpiece of the Renewable Divison of Corporación Gestamp:

  We have the support of more than 30,000 employees in our group, with 118 industrial plants in 25 countries, and an annual turnover of USD 9.000 Mn.

  We rely on a workforce of over 150 highly skilled professionals throughout the United States, India, Italy, France, South Africa and Spain.

• Projects

  We have built photovoltaic projects in excess of 400 MW capacities, in conformity with EPC contracts, having constructed 2 out of the 10 largest farms in the world: Fuente Álamo and Calasparra.

From Steel to Energy

Corporación Gestamp is rooted in the success of a great steel company, Gonvarri, which managed to transfer its leadership skills toward the renewable energies, maintaining the  same values of quality, efficiency and sustainability:

• 1958.
  Stablishment

  Francisco Riberas Pampliega built Gonvarri, a society dedicated to the buying and selling of steel products, with a share capital of 120 €.

• 70s.
  Industrialization

  In 20 years, the company led the steel production in Spain, with service centers in Burgos, Asturias, Valencia and Barcelona.

• 80s.
  Automotive

   

  With the introduction of the auxiliary metal stamping and creation sectors in 1991, Gonvauto from Barcelona became what we know as Gestamp Automoción. It was dedicated exclusively to the automobile sector (SEAT).

• 90s.
  Internacionalization

  The company starts its international expansion beginning with Portugal and Brazil.

• 2000.
  Renowables

   

  During this decade the Renewable division was founded, first with Solar Energy (2005), then Wind (2007) and finally Biomass Projects.
